Help with a note3 and Google Chrome cast

Apologies in advance if this post is in the wrong place. Moderator's feel free to move it to the correct location.

I have recently purchased two chrome casts and I want to get my chrome browser in my note 3 onto my TV via chrome cast. I have set up the chrome cast and it works fine with you tube etc but it can't get my browser to appear in my TV. Apparently I need to download a chrome extension but I have no idea what the extension is. My end game is to stream a totally web based TV subscription, warriors TV from my phone onto my TV.

Any tips would be appreciated. :)

Hi there Kev Jones, and welcome to Android Forums :)

I went ahead and moved your post to the dedicated Chromecast subforum for the best support.

To answer your question/problem... there's not a way (that I know of) to cast from the Chrome browser on your phone (on the PC is a different story - just installed the Google Cast extension). What you can do (I hope!) is cast your entire screen. I've done that before to cast shows on TV networks that don't have an app, but stream online instead.

Details on that are here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6059461?hl=en

In a nutshell:
To Cast your screen from your Android device:
  • Connect your Android device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast
  • Open the Chromecast App
  • From the navigation drawer, select 'Cast Screen'
  • Touch the 'Cast Screen' button
  • Select your Chromecast

Let us know how it goes :D

It appears that there is a solution for this problem and it's free!!!

Web video caster is available in the playstore and you cut and paste your Web address into the browser and hey presto your off and running. Seems to work for me fingers crossed
