Help Help with Acclaim's Notification Sound

I have an android from us cellular and for some reason when i get a text i dont have the notification sound any more and i even turned up the ring tone and the media volume and i even changed it and nothing idk what to do to fix it some one help me please

Verify what sound/ringtone you have set for notifications.

i have to android acclaim i just shut it off and it came back so i am not sure what the problem was
