hey um well i purchase my samsung galaxy Europa yesterday and i bought it for it's wifi capabilities. i was using it's wifi with my router, Linksys, and the wifi was slow. so i read on a article today about my wifi issue and i saw an advice about upgrading it's firmware and it should make the wifi faster. i did that abut an hour ago and now, when i try use the linksys, i put it the pass code then thing just says, obtaining address and I'm about 2 feet away from my router. then it says remembered, secured with wep. before the upgrade, it use to say connected and i browse the web at some really slow speeds but now it's doesn't say it no more just says remembered, secured with WEP.
why i thought the next was slow becaz it took so long just to go on a page and browsing of the web, i just a default page saying no net access or the web page is down.
i tried unplug and plug in back the router and still no luck.. idk what to do :(..someone please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay okay i get net access now, um but the download is slow and while surfing the net, the default page comes up. when i try to download apps from the android market, it starts downloading then says download unsuccessful. i have it for about 4 days, and i can't download nothing

What's the model of the Linksys router?

What happens when you connect with a laptop? Is the wireless still slow? What happens when you connect the laptop to the back of the router using a cable? Is the connection still slow?

it's a Linksys Wireless-B Broadband router, 2.4 GHZ, Model: BEFW11S4
um with a laptop it's works fine, the speed is good using the wifi, i haven't try connecting a cable behind the router. btw i'm living in belize and we have a 512KB connection -_-

Well, if your laptop can connect to your router through wifi, then the problem isn't your router. For what ever reason, your phone is having issues connecting to it. Make sure you have entered the correct wep password.

One thing to note, when you flash new firmware on your router, all the settings on your router have probably been reset. You might have to log in to the router and reconfigure it to the way you had it
