Help help with my Galaxy Ace Duos and airplane mode

I have a Galaxy Ace duos phone which was working fine until this morning. Now I cannot make calls with it because it is telling me airplane mode is on..but my airplane mode is NOT on.
I have checked and double checked that..it is not on. but the phone keeps telling me it is on.
I have taken the battery out and put it back in. I have checked and unchecked airplane mode. nothing. the phone still keeps giving me that error message.
I cannot make any calls.
Any advice out there? thanks so much

Have you stock rom? do you use both sim cards? take out sim cards, switch on, see what says and still goes on airplane mode, then switch off, insert sim cards, and switch on again to see if It asks you for pin, and so on
Could still make a fresh flash of rom, will reset all changes in system

thank you. I took sim cards out and put them back in and I can now make calls.
