Help with my standard text messenger

whatsup

Newbie
Hello I had a question about my texting messenger the standard one that came on the phone. I've changed the background and the color of the bubbles in my stock messinging thing but can't remember how I did it. Does anyone know I can change it again. I have a really cool theme right now from go SMS but I send alot of pictures and text and that stock texting sends the messages twice as fast as when I send a pic on go SMS it takes longer for some reason. So I decited to go back to the stock messenger if I can figure out how to make it look a lil cooler. Thanx and Sorry for the tgtrad being so long.

We might be able to help you better if we knew what phone you have. Different brands have different stock texting apps. Samsung has an app, HTC has an app, LG has an app, etc.

FYI, the difference in speed might be because the stock app will send a resized (smaller) image while GO SMS will send the full resolution image. You might want to do some testing and post back. :)

It sounds like you really like Go SMS, so let's try to make it work better instead of going back to the pre-installed app.

If your Go SMS app is running slowly, but you like it, try clearing the cache:
Home > Menu > Settings > Applications (or Manage applications or Apps) >
Look up near the top and tap ALL (you might have a phone on which you'll need to tap the Manage Applications setting first, though).

Next scroll to Go SMS
Tap it.
Tap Clear Cache.

If the cache is at zero then let's try deleting as many text messages as possible. The reason it's slowing down could be related to how many texts you have saved.

It could also be that it's a coincidence that the app is slowing down. Sometimes apps slow down because the processor is working hard. Anything you can do to clean out the phone will keep the processor running smoothly. For example:

Delete all unused apps.
Empty the TRASH folder for each e-mail account on your phone.
Move any photos or music to your computer that you don't use everyday or don't use often.

Charge the battery every day, preferably while the phone is off.

Hope that following these suggestions will help you to keep your app!
