HELP...with text message @vtext.com

My friend text me from the verizon wireless website because he lost his phone. Now every time he text me from his phone it shows up as #@vtext.com. its very annoying. If he text me "hi how r u" it will show up as (hi how r) hi how r u. I tried to delete his number and everything.

How do I get it so that his name shows up rather than #@vtext.com?

This same thing is happening to me and no one has a fix. I can't wait to see if anyone can help.

I FIXED IT!!! Go to a new text message and look up the person you want to text BY NAME. Send them a text and it works from there on.
