Help with Widget locker please :)

I've recently installed Widget Locker due to so many recommendations for it on these forums, however, I am having a couple of issues with it.

1. It's inconsistent: sometimes the new lock screen comes up, and sometimes the stock lock screen comes up when unlocking my phone. Also, when the widget locker lock screen comes up, the stock lock screen comes up first. Is there a way to fix this?

2. In many of the screen shots, I see app shortcuts surrounding the lock icon, but I cannot figure out how to do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Additional info that may be helpful: I have an unrooted Samsung Galaxy S3 with Android version 4.1.1 on AT&T.

I haven't used WL in a while but it's still installed on my phone. I did a little looking around in the settings though.

1. Open Widget Locker from the app drawer and tap the dial to open up settings. Scroll down to and tap Advanced. At the very top you should see Disable Stock Lockscreen. Tap that and then enable. That should clear up the inconsistency.

2. I'm not sure if you mean you want shortcuts in the ring surrounding the unlock icon or just on the lockscreen in general. For the first, long press the lockscreen and select custom slider. Then under themes select honeycomb, ics or jellybean. At the top of the screen you'll see the unlock icon. Just slide it in the direction you want to have your shortcut and then select applications to pick which app is put there.
If you want shortcuts anywhere else on the lockscreen, simply long press and select applications.

Widget Locker offers a lot in customization and as a result, can be a bit confusing. Have fun tinkering with it. Hope this helps you.

I did this, but the stock lockscreen still comes up.

this mostly worked, but the icons only show if I tap and hold the lock. is there a way to make them persistent? This is a problem because holding it also brings up the nova launcher menu before I can actually select a shortcut.

1. Not sure if its the same on the SIII, but my Galaxy Tab on ICS has a setting where you can turn off the stock lockscreen. Settings>Security>Screen Lock>None.

2. You need a different Widgetlocker Slider. You can download some from XDA or the market.

tried that, but then I just got a black screen for about 3 seconds and then my homescreen, or it just goes straight to my homescreen with no lockscreen at all. I get a message sometimes about WidgetLocker being delayed by Android due to recent Home Button press.

and I never know which I'm going to get.

I've found a way around this that I'm happy with, so this one is no longer important.

OP, have you read the app's FAQ/tutorial? I also haven't used it in a while, but I remember the dev stating that there was a delay, at the OS level, that meant when you powered your screen off, you had to wait a little while for W.L. to be enabled (unless you rooted, at which point you could authorize W.L. to bypass that). Are you finding that the old lockscreen comes up if you turn the screen on right after having turned it off? Or do you see it after its been off for a while?

Well, it seems to be the former. But what I'm also noticing is that if I use the power button to turn the screen on, I get the lockscreen, but if I use the home button, it bypasses the lockscreen altogether.

Have you enabled it to turn on via your home button? Try disabling that and see if you get a different result.
