Help!!

My downstairs bathroom is leaking from the toilet and shower when the upstairs bathroom is being used(showers).

A few notes:
1. The upstairs bathroom is not above the downstairs bathroom.
2. There are no leaks coming from right under the upstairs bathroom.

Any ideas? Never happened before

are you saying..
the water is coming up the drainage.. in the downstairs toilet and tub?

your sewage drain .. under the house.. is stopped up..
that is my guess

yea im not understanding where the water is coming out on the downstairs toilet and shower? if its coming out of the drain in the shower and out of the bowl part of the toilet then I would guess that the poster above has guess correct. There is probably a bit of blockage in your sewer line somewhere. Here's another good question... what happens when you flush the downstairs toilet or run the shower down there?

Well, we got the plumber to fix it but to answer your questions...

It came from the drain in the shower and under the toilet bowl. Nothing happens when you flush the toilet and the shower was overflowing so it wasn't really a smart idea to turn it on.
