My phone announces the names of who's calling and who's texting.. How do I turn it off?

Hi and Welcome to AF, in order to asist you if would be great if you can re-submit your question (using the same form you used for your question) with Model/Manufacturer of your device, it helps in us providing you with best possible solution :)

PS feel free to join the forums, then you can find more about your device on the Android Devices page :)

Need more info.

Hi, and welcome!

Did you download a talking caller id app? If you did, just delete the app. If not, what phone are you using? I am sure there is a setting that can be toggled on and off if it is an app that came with the phone.

You might want to sign up for forums, find your phone's section and ask other users of your specific phone. Folks on here are really helpful.

Hope this helps.

Android had accessibility options built into the software.

You can access these by selecting Options - Accessibility - Talkback. Uncheck Talkback and you should be good to go.

If this doesn't help, feel free to register and post so we can give this another shot.
