I just got a SD card and put it in the slot but I still run out of room on my Samsung. how do I fix this?

Adding an sd card won't automagically fix memory issues; you have to go into Manage apps (under Settings) and start moving app data to the sd card. There is no "batch move" function, so you'll have to do them individually. Note that not all apps can be moved, and be sure to not move widgets, even if it allows you to, or they will stop working.
