Android Question

I have a verizon 16GB gs4 and i rooted it. i did not install any custom ROMs or anything although when i start up my phone it says samsung with an unlocked lock underneath it and under that it says custom. all of a sudden my SIM card wouldn't work and i kept getting errors when trying to turn on mobile data in the notification menu (it turned off by itself). i have a 13" MacBook Pro so if i have to use my mac for it i can but i do not have access to a PC. i tried doing a hard reset and factory restored everything with no luck. i keep getting the error message "unfortuntely, android.process.acore has stopped working" or something when i try to open most applications or do anything at all. i went to verizon and tried a new SIM card and it didn't work either. i called samsung and since i rooted it's not under warranty but they are going to try to flash the stock firmware onto it and see if it works for free but if it doesn't i will have to pay to get it fixed. is there any way to make it seem like it's never been rooted? i would much prefer it just to work though and have everything back the way i got it.
