I tried a factory reset as my m8 was freezing. Now all I get is a black screen and can not get to any menus. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?

Unplug the power for a minute or two and see what happens, Ive had this situation a few times as Ive been doing a-lot of experimentation into optimizing the OS and Kodi.

If unplugging does not work, you must do a manual reset, you will need a thin narrow jewellers screwdriver or anything thin long with a point, on the back of the box is the a/v port (hole). inside there is the reset button, you will hear and or feel a click, remove power plug from box, insert screwdriver or what have you into the a/v port, you will press the button and hold it there, now plug in the power while still holding the button down with screwdriver, hold it there till you see the android robot appear then remove screwdriver, then let it run through it reset procedure.

The problem with these boxes are, they are running a os designed for a cellphone or tablet where recovery methods are controlled by volume and or home buttons on the device, although there is a factory reset button on these boxes, you are still limited to what you can actually do in recovery problems, I offer a hunch, and this is just a hunch but if your bricked its worth a try, hookup a usb keyboard to the box, do the hard factory reset procedure and at the same time hold down the F2 key, if nothing, start over and try the F8 key, if none of these work, google chromebook hard reset and see what they list as recovery keys, you never know it may work, stranger things have been done before, if you are going to try any of these methods, I would have a sd card in the slot incase something does happen and your given a choice from where to boot from.
A-lot of people are bricking these boxes on factory resets and as you know there is no real support for these boxes.
The only support I see for these boxes is, experimentations and post your results.

No just Kodi. So I could keep the kids occupied and watch sport.

Thanks, just wondering, Ive been doing testing and experimenting with the box, Im going to make a post on optimizing the M8 and other android boxes as Ive discovered many problems in the os due to google, its going to be a big post as Im trying to condense it as much as possible.
