Help. I dropped my s6 in the toilet the other da . It was in the water 3 or 4 seconds. I shut it off and put it in a bag of rice for 3 days. Turn it on today and it works fine for about 3 min and I get an overheating message and it shuts down. Is my phone fried? I have Verizon and didn't buy insurance. Is there any way to repair this?

It's a design feature. Samsung decided we're better off with a new phone that's not waterproof.

How's that working out?

Ouch!

I was thinking, what OP could do, since the battery is shorting, is remove the ba.... oh.

I took the phone apart and ordered a new battery to try. It was surprisingly easy to take apart after watching a couple of YouTube videos

Just an update. Got my new battery today and put it in. Phone worked for about 5 min and gave me a overheating message before shutting down. Thinks its time to go back to a s5

Another update. I tried charging it today and it took a charge. Turned it on after it hit 100%. Been trying to get it to overheat and its working great again. Will use it a day or two just on my wifi before puting my number back on it
