Help helping to find / disable stolen huawei m835

So, i'm not exactly new to android but my friend here --> has an issue that thus far I can't figure out. He's got a Huawei M835 (not a great phone, that's not the isue). His ex-gf stole it and is using the heck out of it, messing w/ his contacts, etc.
any ideas? i can't log on or get in through metro pcs b/c they need to send tones to the phone, etc, so that's out. thanks!!!

change the gmail password....should disable something important..

go to google play and download an app to the phone from the website that will lock the phone or something.
