Here are the patents around the new Essential Phone

Yesterday we learned that Essential Products use a shell company to hide the patents and trademarks they were applying for from prying eyes. So now that we know the company name, we get a look at the patents the company now owns.

When I saw the "intruded" front camera yesterday I did wonder about a pop-up version as an alternative (I've often wondered whether the patent office actually applies the "non-obvious" test when granting patents, because to me that one was much more obvious than intruding it into the display). But I figured they'd probably decided that something like that was too much of a risk reliability-wise.
