Here's a stumper - Facebook and Gallery

I've been lurking on here for awhile now but just bought my S3 yesterday, switching from Iphone 4s. I'm loving this phone so far. However, while still working on setting everything to my liking I discovered an issue.

I opened my photo gallery and all of a sudden, MANY MANY MANY albums from Facebook appeared. It won't let me delete them from the gallery. So, this started my adventure googling for answers.

I have gone through the applications manager for gallery and cleared the data. Well, it worked.... For a minute, then it all started popping back up. I went through all of my syncing and unchecked everything that syncs or could sync photos from a gallery, from Facebook to Google+, figuring this is why it pops back up.

I then went through the applications manager and cleared the data again. Minute later, they all started popping back up. I then TURNED OFF all of syncing. Nothing to sync on my phone. Deleted everything through the applications manager for gallery. And, the pictures started coming back with syncing turned off!

Am I going crazy here? Am I missing the obvious? I even ventured on Facebook to see if there is a setting to turn off so pictures wouldn't be sent and I couldn't find anything. I'm not an expert phone guru guy but I'm not a beginner either. But, for this issue, I am completely lost. If anyone can think of anything it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First try removing your facebook account from the phone for a bit and see if the photos do disappear. Making sure here that it is your facebook photos. if they do disappear then re-add your facebook account but when you do make sure syncing Sync Contacts is off. Start with that and report back.

Yupp, missed the obvious. I need to do more reading up on the phone and android.

I canceled out both of my accounts off of the phone. Yes, I saw there are TWO options of Facebook accounts for your phone under accounts and syncing. One is regular Facebook, and the other says (sync) next to it. So, after removing both of them and confirming the pictures would not reappear in my gallery, which they didn't, I only added the non syncing facebook account on my phone. Everything with Facebook and my gallery seems to work fine.
