Help Hesitant to upgrade to Pie

I just got my pixel 2 and it came with Oreo installed. It gives me the option to upgrade to Pie but I'm not seeing many recent reviews about it. Has anyone had trouble with it? If I upgrade, is it possible to go back to Oreo if i want to?

It works fine - been using it since June/July.

I'm pretty sure you can downgrade by flashing a full factory image of an older version. That will do a full wipe of the phone, so back up everything before doing it.

thanks. I did it. I updated. I hate the clock in the upper left but I'll get used to it.

Yeah, it breaks the time-honoured "system stuff on the right, user stuff on the left", but TBH I had almost forgotten about it.

I wonder whether in a couple of years, when the notch fad has gone from all but the cheapest phones, we'll get the option to put the clock back (or choose the location, as some custom ROMs allowed many years ago).
