About to take my Note 8 in to get the dead pixel sorted so I was archiving files off it. (Samsung guys had said they would work on it rather than replace it.)

It appeared to freeze partway through the second tranche of file transfer. Long press on the right button eventually - after some minutes - produced the restart button.

It then bricked during boot. Frozen with the blue LED on and never properly booted. Long period of holding down the right boot button produce nothing.

Have you tried holding power and volume down or up for a few seconds?

Oh. OK I knew I tried that once but it seems to be working now... developments shortly.

Addendum

I think I must have done the buttons in the wrong order since simultaneous is something I've never managed.

So far is seems to now been working.
