Root hey, i'm seriously thinking about rooting my phone.

i have an ace that i bought 6 months ago but i don't like how it functions. when i had just bougt it it worked fine, now theres this 1 second lag when i try to open apps. then i have a problem with video playback to. the vide and audio go out of synce no matter which player i try. MX, QQ, HD, BS, PLAyer pro. my internal memory is still filling up as well i'm i'm looking into some way that i can maybe use my sd card as internal memory by partitioning it or something fancy but i'll probably have to root for that.

if i root my fone, does it improve performance?

Simply rooting wont improve performance, however rooting and flashing a custom ROM onto the device allows you to overclock the cpu to get more out of it. Just be careful to watch the cpu temperature so it dosnt overheat and break...

Rooting simply allows you to do modifications on the android system so that you can remove the restrictions and make whatever changes you want in it.

As for the performance, its certainly one of the most important reasons people root their phones for. Overclocking the cpu is one way, the other is that you remove unnecessary apps from the system, especially those that run in the background and hog your ram, you can install ram management scripts so that you have more free ram and your performance will definately improve.

But the best option would be to install a custom rom, it has already the improvements and tweeks already built in so that you don't have to do them yourself. Just flash the rom and you are good to go.

For the video problem, i have no idea about that, but i hope a factory reset may solve that. But if you install a custom rom, it will definately get solved because even then you will be doing a factory reset, so its a double bonus for you.
