hi any recovery photo app?

hi everyone

i have been searching in the net looking for a solution to recover my photos i deleted from my xoom, i checked and i can recover data from the sd card with recuva but i can not do it from the internal memory, do i really need to root, with all the advantages abnd disadvantages, my device to recover my photos and video or does anyone know a better way to do it?
