hi new member with nexus 7

could anyone tell me what i am doing wrong i am trying to stream from my 16gb flash drive i have downloaded the media importer app and bought a OTG cable but it will not work it does stream from my external hard drive but not usb pen files are in mp4 and have tried two different makes of pens ? thanks ,,rob

I honestly haven't used an OTG cable with mine, but I believe what you're looking to do will require root access. We have a great thread discussing OTG cable usage here:
