Help Hide Unused Apps or Icons

Ok I looked in all the "suggested" threads to find an answer but had no luck. Is there a way to uninstall apps on the phone when I bought it (Droid Pro)? Of if ther is not a way then I see where you can create a folder on the home page but when you put apps in it doesn't move it from the other screen.
I hope I worded this question ok. I like the phone but it's making me nuts.

Only way to hide apps is to root the phone and purchase Titanium Backup which allows you to freeze the apps and remove them from the app menu
