history of deleted text messages

hi

I know there is somewhere in android devices which stores the text messages even after deleting them! I know it cause the other day, my friend took my phone and read the messages that I had deleted.
He showed me the phone and the messages were listed with white font on a black background.

can someone please tell me where is that?

it might have something to do with files i guess,

i go to the contact page, press the settings button on my phone and history should pop up
