home button help!

Is there any way to "change settings" for home button? My phone wakes up in my pocket from the button hitting my leg.

thanks

You can install Nova Launcher which allows you to change the home button function. Selecting "None" will essentially deactivate it so it can't do anything by accident in your pocket.

Thanks, I suppose that means there is no way without Nova launcher?

I am a bit of a minimalist so a new program/app/launcher makes me hesitant. I have heard of Nova, will you share a few more nova pros?

Thanx

Well if you look at reviews both here and elsewhere you'll see that Nova is about the most popular alternative launcher. There are others as well that should offer similar functionality but I can't vouch for them (I am a Nova user). It's certainly up to you whether you want to add another launcher to your phone to get what you want, but since Samsung's doesn't let you do this it's going to be the only way.
You can look at the features list to see what else it does, which is a lot.

Ok installed Nova, went to settings , gestures and inputs and set "none"......no change.

When the screen is off, home button still "wakes up phone". This is a problem when in front pocket.

Any other ideas or suggestions.

thx

That setting in Nova, where you tell it what you'd like the home button to do, only applies to the unlocked phone. The lock screen is not part of the launcher.

That was what I feared....

OK back to original post.

Home button is waking phone in my pocket!!

Anyone have a fix?????

Nova is not the answer....

There are third party replacements for the lock screen, but unfortunately I have no experience with them, nor do I know if any of them allows you to disable the home button.
How about using a leather pouch? That will keep the button from getting inadvertently pressed.

Or just set a short screen timeout. Worst case, the screen will light up for a few seconds. No harm in that.
