Hello All,

I thought i remember a while back somone suggested a app that would give me more home screen's on my Samsung Moment, but i can't remember the name of the app (think it was something like Helix). when I search the market i can't seem to find anything that will give me more screen's to put widgets on.

Any suggestions?

thanks

Helix, Launcher Pro, ADW Launcher.

Launcher Pro is supposed to be the fastest at the moment.

Humm when i do a search on the market for any of those 3 you listed It does not find any of them.

any reason why i can't find any of them on the market?

It might be a compatibility issue. What Android version are you using? I know you need 2.1 to use LauncherPro.

yea. i think all the decent to better home replacements need android 2.0
too bad my backflip is stuck on 1.5 until the official 2.1 comes out :)
but for 1.5/1.6 devices, i prefer pandahome and openhome

Yea i have not upgraded to 2.1 yet, partly because i just have not gotten around to it, but also was kinda holding back due to all the post saying that 2.1 screwed this up or that up....just seems 2.1 caused more problems than it fixed....

well thats true but if my phone was able to be rooted then i would have done it and be on a 2.1 rom by now. mostly just because of the added features and how it basically gets every "good" app on the market and live wallpapers :)

So i guess my choice is to update my phone to the 2.1 and deal with all the problems that come along with it, but at least i will have acess to cool apps on the market...lol

lol. guess so. id go with cyanogenmod. its the most stable 2.1 rom i can think of the top of my head.

I'm surprised more people don't mention dxTop in these discussions. Just as important as the number of screens available, imho, is their layout and navigability. DxTop offers 5 screens laid out in a cross shaped configuration, such that you're never more than two flicks of the finger away from the screen you want, and it's easier to keep track of which screen you're on. It's got a number of other nifty features, including an app dock that remains on every screen. Definitely worth checking out. Whenever a new home replacement comes out I try it out for a while, and I keep coming back to dxTop.

Cheers.

Oh, and no, I have no affiliation with the maker of this app.

More people don't mention dxtop in these discussions because there is a major difference in the apps listed and dxtop.......those are free. :D

True, true. It's funny how you forget you've paid for an app after you've been using it for a while. So a question: is there another other home replacement with a novel screen layout, one that does something other than scroll through screens 1 through x?

Yes. Both ADW and LauncherPro offer a "helicopter" overview of homescreens. LauncherPro will let you pinch your homescreen to zoom out so that you can see all screens.

Otherwise, SweeterHome also does the cross-shaped thing.
