Home screen grid on a Galaxy Tab A

I was wondering if I could change the home screen app grid? I use the Samsung Experience Home as my default manager. My Tab A uses Oreo (8.0). If I need to change my default manager do any of you have recommendations that are free, and preferably ad free?

Both Nova and Apex have free versions that are ad-free. Both are very capable and you can adjust the grid in both.
