How do you remove apps from home screen without uninstalling them?

It depends on what launcher you are using (launcher is the Android term for the bit of software that provides your home screen. )


Different phone come with different launchers, and many people install a third party one (Nova launcher is my favourite )

So... It's difficult to give you a definitive, but what you might want to try is holding your finger on the icon, and see what options are presented to you (by whatever launcher you are using )

Long press the desired app and you should see a "remove" menu item. This'll remove it from the home screen, and not uninstall it.

Unless you're using a Huawei. If I recall correctly, they're using a iPhone like launcher without app drawers.
