Home touch button - recently used apps

mkmck

Newbie
I have a V20 using 7.0. On my previous phone, using 6.1, I had virtually unlimited previous used apps I could scroll though using the square home touch button. On this phone, the max I can go back is 11. I have searched this phone everywhere for a setting to increase that number, but can't find one. Am I missing something, or is 11 the most 7.0 will give me? Thanks!

Possibly a limitation of the RAM and OS?

Check out your ram memory the next time it happens.

Purposely opened 32 apps on my v20 and they all showed up when the recent apps button was pressed.

key part of the discussion is missing.

What are the apps in question. I can probably easily run 30+ on mine as long as they aren't all hi-res data hog games. This it might run out of resources. Shouldn't as android 7 will offload ram space over to the storage memory for apps not "active". but it might.

Don't know I try not to do that much with my phone at one time.

You're missing the point...it's not how many apps are running at one time, but the "app recall" function. They are not running, but you flip through a record of what you have had running on the phone.

I think it may be a time issue. I just looked at my V20, and only 5 apps were recalled using the home touch button...I haven't used the phone much over the last few hours.

AH that is a different spin then. TO be fair I don't know I've ever checked that. but I do clear my apps fairly often

I've noticed the way my HTC m8 would hold onto recent apps indefinitely vs the LG v20 weeding the recent apps out over time. Not an issue for me with either.

I'm wondering if that's a Nougat thing. It's supposed to be more aggressive on use and battery life so maybe it's related.
