Homepage problem

When I use Samsung internet I have 'quick access' set as homepage and 'bing' set as search engine. A few days ago google. com started coming up as home page when I click on 'new tab'. I've tried to fix it but nothing works. Anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?
I have a Galaxy j7. Had it a little over 2 years now and it's never happened before.

Just to be clear, the web browser you are using is the "internet" app from Samsung and not Chrome?

This is what I'm getting with whatbrowser.org. now. It always used to say Chrome.

Thank you. Samsung browser 8. I don't recall ever changing to that instead of Chrome. Could that be the problem? I use settings on the Samsung internet to determine my homepage.

I would think each browser would set the home page independently. Most likely you switched default browsers. Decide which do you want to use and set the homepage after making it the default browser.

Thanks. I'll give it a try and let you know but it still befuddles me why I can't change homepage with Samsung internet's own settings option.

I don't want to set a default because I also use Firefox Nightly and DuckDuckGo.
This is what I get with Samsung. I set the options under browser settings yet when I click on new tab I get Google. Very irritating.
