HOMTOM ZJI Z8 weird defective display

So, I just got this cheap rugged phone, honestly a good deal for the money. Two days in, regularly spaced horizontal lines of black pixels appear on the screen out of nowhere, followed by a weird matrix/slenderman/ghost effect... lol it's hard to explain, I'll upload a video... The Amazon seller is probably going to replace the phone, but I was curious if anyone knew what was causing all of this.
Also, the phone itself works fine, as you can see from the video.

Yup that's a faulty screen, repair or replacement required, nothing else you can do.
