Honeycomb on the Dell Streak7?

I just bought a Dell laptop.
They're going to throw in a Dell Streak7-no contract for $199.00 with the purchase.
I'm buying the laptop no matter what.
However I'm not sold on the tablet.
From what I hear, Honeycomb fixes a lot of the clunkiness you get with running Froyo on a tablet.

However it's unclear if they're going to update, and it doesn't appear this device is popular enough for someone to have already figured out how to root it and get Honeycomb on there without Dell.

Anyone have any idea 1.) If Dell is going to offer a Honeycomb update? or 2.) anyone was a process to DIY update the Dell Streak 7?

Thanks,

Update: After re-Googling some more, I found this.

$199 is a pretty compelling price point even if it only has 800X480 resolution (which seems strange/worrisome)

How To Install Android 3.1 Honeycomb ROM On Dell Streak 7

That is a really good deal! If you have no use for a tablet, then I guess any price is too much, but I owned a Streak 7" for 13 days (I returned it and got my money back, not that I didn't like it, I just wanted to play with it for a a while) and my only complaints were the screen resolution and terrible battery life.

However, one HUGE advantage to the screen resolution is that Tegra 2 didn't even know what to do with all its power. On 1280x800 tabs running Tegra 2, the lag is a little annoying to me, but on this? It FLEW! I had more widgets than I even needed, and even live wallpapers wouldn't slow it down (but I would avoid them anyway because of the terrible battery life).

If you think you won't need more than 3 hours battery, but see yourself using a tablet, I'd say do it. Good luck!

I am getting the Dell Streak 7 with the staples coupon. I am not a techie, so please help me with "rooting" the device. What advantage does that offer? Are there simple instructions on doing it? What will rooting enable me to do with this device?
