Hotspot / Wifi Question Samsung Galaxy S3 (Verizon)

Crono2534

Lurker
I am trying to configure my phone to act as a mobile hotspot but not in the traditional sense.

I am attempting to enable the LTE hotspot on my phone and then bridge my TPLINK wireless router into that network to enable all of my home computers access to the internet through my phones hotspot. I have a TPlink (TL-WR1043ND) Router however I am having trouble finding out how to accomplish this task...

If the above mentioned is not possible for whatever reason I was curious to know if anybody knows if it is possible to enable your phone to tether via USB to a USB OTG ethernet adapter for direct plug into the routers traditional cable modem spot for relatively the same above mentioned reasons.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

First off welcome Crono2534, to the AF community :)

I have moved your thread to the Verizon forum to receive some better assistance.

Hope you can receive the help you are looking for!

I don't see that this is possible using your router: the router would have to connect to the S3 via wireless (which its WiFi is on the LAN side, not the WAN side) or via USB--unless your router can establish a WAN connection over USB (I've never seen that).

As an alternative, you can tether one PC to the phone (via wireless or USB) and share that Internet connection--you'll have to disable DHCP on all other devices (router, cable/DSL modem) and renew IPs of connected clients.

It's a bit of a hassle, but that's all I can think of.

If the tethered connection is strictly for web browsing, you may be able to find a proxy server Android app and just point your clients to it OR run a proxy server on the aforementioned tethered PC and use that rather than changing DHCP servers/client IPs.
