How accurate can these apps really be?

I have never used one myself but I always questioned their reliability. I mean, doctors use advanced technology to track things going on inside our bodies. Other than simply keeping track of your own progress by your own means, what point do these apps serve?

For an average Joe it's pretty accurate. But unless it's officially certified by a government organization, don't take it too serious.

Most (if not all) from what I have seen only serve as a guide to reach your goals. They are not meant to be a replacement to actual medical equipment, that is just silly! lol

I agree with you there. It mostly is for tracking and goal-achieving things. Only the future will determine if we get some MGS android-based nanomachines to inject in our bodies and fully monitor a normal consumer's body. One can only dream.
