Help How best to transfer most/all data from Motion to Galaxy S4 ?

Seems Metro's bluetooth method only transfers ten contacts at a time. Would like to transfer messages, contacts, photos, and less importantly, call logs.

Seems all the apps with re-download when my e-mail address and password is entered into the Play Store.

Suggestions ? There should be some App with will work on the Motion and the Galaxy and take care of this transfer. "Back Up" is good and on the Motion, but don't see it on the Galaxy. It backs up stuff except Memos, which can be done separately. At the Metro Store, their hardware transfer unit did not recognize the Galaxy S4.

TIA.

I know that if you have your contacts set as Google contacts and not as phone contacts, you will have them on you new phone the same as your apps; they will sync after you sign in with your Google account. Pictures too, if you have them sync'd with Google's photos app. Call logs I have no idea about. Other stuff you can transfer via USB to your computer from the Motion, and then to the S4. If you have to have pictures you can transfer via USB also. Personally, I like having my pics sync'd and when I get a new phone starting over so old pics aren't on the new phone and only pics taken with the new phone on the new phone.

Thanks. Contacts indeed automatically appeared after signing onto Google. None of the Apps reloaded. Seems that have to be manually downloaded again, right ?

Bluetooth should be able to transfer some more stuff, right ? The nice Metro app "Back Up" is not on this Galaxy S4. If BackUp were on the S4, then call logs and messages could be transferred. If BackUp only a MetroPCS application ?

No, the apps will have to be re-installed. Go to Play Store, look at "All" apps and you'll see the ones previously installed. Probably want to do that on wifi to avoid using gigabytes downloading from the network.

The backup app, I think, was only a Motion app, and not even necessarily a Metro app. I would think that you can transfer stuff via BT, but personally, I think USB to the computer and then to the new phone is a better way of doing it.

Samsung has an app called smart switch or something like that. That should help too (I think)

Really ? How to use USB to transfer phone logs and messages ?

Wait a minute! My calendar, contacts, etc. are synched to my Google account. Since the contacts downloaded, why didn't the calendar events ? This and more are checked in Accounts and last synched today.

Changed to a Galaxy 5, and the Contacts were downloaded but not the calendar events.
