Basically my question is as in the thread title. On other phones/platforms there's usually an option for events to automatically be deleted from the calendar after a certain time has elapsed from when the events occured.
I thought this would be the case for the HTC in the default android calendar app, but today I decided to check and discovered that events from 5 months ago are still in memory

So, is there a way to delete old events from the calendar all in one go (say, for example deleting all events more than 2 weeks old except recurrent events like birthdays)?
