Help How can I delete telco apps?

I bought a used AT&T phone, but am using it through Consumer Cellular, so the AT&T apps won't work. My problem is with the AT&T Address Book, which comes up whenever I look for contacts.
Since I'm not directly an AT&T customer, I can't put my contacts into it. But it spends a minute hunting uselessly for them before letting me get to my real contacts. Is there any way to kill this app?

The only way to get rid of them is to root your device,But you can disable them.

I use EZ Disabler from the store.
Works like a champ.

The Greenbot link didn't help. I disabled all the apps labeled AT&T (except for AT&T Smart Wi-Fi, which had "disable" and "force stop" greyed out, but AT*T Address Book, which doesn't show on the app list, still comes up.

Might it be part of my Contacts app? (Its logo is a green person inside a green circle.) How can I find out?

And if it is, what contacts app would you guys recommend I use in place of it?
