Hi, I am new to this site and to Android development. Just started 3 weeks ago since I got my new Android phone, although I am a bit confused with respect to the UI design techniques on Android with Eclipse. I am probably using the Layout designer wrong in Eclipse, but so far I have not been able to put anything on the screen from the Toolbox, so I am doing everything through code.
I was wondering if someone could help me with developing a UI similar to the one below? How are the components laid out inside the Green border, and how can I achieve the transparency outside of the Green border? If someone could help me with determining which UI components are being used to develop it and their attributes, I would greatly appreciate that.
