Apps How can I develop my own GUI on Android?

Does anybody have an idea of how to develope a GUI system on android? I hope that GUI is based on some atomic widgets like buttons, checkbox, scroll bar and so on. This means that I would not use GUI built in Androd. It should be parallel to various windows management of a Linux distribution. Any points are welcome!
