Help How can I encrypt certain folders on the microSD in my rooted Android tablet?

Question 1:

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 running Kit Kat (Android 4.4.2). The tablet is rooted. I have a 64 GB microSD in the slot.

In Settings/General/Devices, there is an option to encrypt the entire microSD, but I don't want to do that. Why not, you ask? Well, encrypting files/folders that I don't need encrypted will slow down my tablet use unnecessarily. I want to encrypt certain, private folders/files only. Is this possible?

Question 2:

I plan to get the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab A. It comes with Android 5.0, Lollipop. If I can, I plan to root it. How can I encrypt certain files/folders on this tablet?

Hi

Yes, I use ES file explorer (free from Playstore). You can select a folder ( or file) and set an encryption password. You have to then deliberately decrypt the folder using ES before access. What you want I think.
