How can I get a app workable with 7.1.2?

I have a small problem. Im using a outdated version of Root Explorer because i dislike the design of the new version (>3.3.8).
I never had a problem because i was using Android 6.0.1, but i have a different phone now and it's using 7.1.2.

The problem is that when I start the app on the phone with 7.1.2 it shows this screen:

(I can provide the apks), but is it fixable?

There's a lot of UI tweaking options in the app's Preferences menus, personally I prefer to stay current when it comes to a utility like Root Explorer.

But if your averse to updating, your query requires working with the source code, have you already tried to contact the developer?

Its actually clever. I just did write a email.
But i dont really think, i will get a answer, i dont know why...
