Help How can I get my Contact list to see Exchange Distribution Groups?

charast

Lurker
I am hoping that someone can help me here.
I am trying to set up a notification alert tone for an email GROUP not just a standard contact (which I know how to do).
For work we use Exchange/Outlook and I have Exchange ActiveSync configured to recieve Work related emails. I get specific emails from several email Distribution groups (the groups have dozens of corporate email addys).
here is the wierd part.... I have lots of corporate contacts in my outlook address book including the Distribution Groups. however on my galaxy S3, when my contacts are synced, my contact list on the phone will NOT show the Distribution Group, only the standard contacts, so I can assign an specific alert to it like I can all my other important contacts.

so.. I guess my question is, HOW can I get the Galaxy to see my sync`d Outlook Distribution Groups??? technically, i cannot even send an email to one of those groups (which I need to often). I need to look up each individual contact and enter them manually.

HELP!!!

Not sure if this helps. make sure all your contacts are being displayed. Go into Contacts, press "Menu" and choose "Contacts to Display". Is your exchange email address listed there?

You may need to create a group on your S3 and manually put the people into those groups if the groups are not carrying over.

Which email program are you using? I use touchdown for my work email as it will keep the phone sandboxed.
