How can I help Google translating Android into Portuguese?

I have noticed that the portuguese translations are terrible.

Is there any open-source platform that allows me to contribute with Google's Android translations?

I would have thought by now Google would have got the Portuguese translations for Android correct. It's not as if it's a minority language, it's a major European and South American language. Which makes me think possibly, have you got the correct "Portuguese" selected in the language option? Because there's Portuguese (Portugal) and Portuguese (Brazil). And I believe there might be quite a few spelling, word and grammar differences between them.

I was reading on a Linux forum once, and someone wanted to do something about the terrible Portuguese in Linux. But it turned out he had it set to Brazil and not Portugal.
