Help How can I make screen unlock easier

Any advice?

I find unlocking the screen on my DP to be unwieldy.

First, I push the power button, which is enough security for me. This button never gets pushed inadvertently, especially with the TPU case I bought from ebay.

Then, I have to slide the unlock switch to the right.

Is anyone aware of a way to simplify this: perhaps make any key wake up the display instead of only the power key. or even better, keep the power key but eliminate the android slide lock?

Get the free nolock app from the market. Does exactly what you want. I can wake with any hardware key and unlocks right to my default home screen.

Agreed. I also use No Lock (by BoD) and it works as previously described.

I tried Nolock. Maybe I am missing a setting, but this app made it too easy to unlock. I want EITHER unlock with the power button right to home screen, OR unlock to the android slider with any key. I worry that Nolock will make it too easy to unlock in my pocket unintentionally.

I ended up finding an app call WidgetLocker. It cost me a few bucks but does what I need. I only wish it was simpler--it is really designed to add widgets to your app screen.

Ok. You should note the difference between waking your phone and unlocking to the homescreens.
