How can I mute everything but music player?

Hope this is the best forum for this. . I like listening to music while playing games. In paricular, I've been playing Final Fantasy 3, lately, which seems to have no in-gsme volume control. I want to ve able to nute everything but the music app. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!
 
I'm not sure that you can do that.

I look at the different things you can control the volume of as channels. Like you have your ringtone/notification channel which you can control the volume of. I believe the "main sound channel" contains both the music and game audio. I don't think you can adjust one without affecting the other. Some games allow you to mute them which is a partial work around. That doesn't achieve what you're asking for, though.

Sorry. Maybe someone else has an idea.
