How can I prevent/undo Picasa SYNC???

I just opened up my photo gallery and it automatically showed me all the photos on my picasa website. I did not ask it to do this and I don't want all those photos on my phone. I don't know if I'm just viewing thumbnails or if all the photos just got downloaded to my phone. Either way I didn't ask for it and it is annoying.

I went into my system settings and Picasa Web Albums sync was OFF. Also Google Photos sync is off. The only SYNC I have on is the Calendar. Why did it do that, if sync is OFF????? How can I undo it, get all those photos out of my gallery and prevent it from happening again? What else can I do besides turning the SNYC off in the system settings? There are no settings in the gallery I can find whatsoever.

Any help is appreciated. My system is Jellybean if that makes a difference.

thank you.

Go into manage apps, find the gallery app, clear data.

then won't it delete the photos that I actually DO want on there (the ones I took with the device)?

and even if I do delete the data, what's to stop it from grabbing all the Picasa photos again?

Your pics aren't actually in the gallery that's just where you view them.

I assume at some point you had Picasa or Google + photo sync on which is why you see them.
If you know for sure now that they are not checked they should not re-appear in the gallery.
