How can I save my Verizon min?

Captain Sexy

Ok, so I have the Verizon 450 min plan for voice, I'm coming from sprint's 450 min plan which counted only to land lines. I wasn't aware just how many cell min I used to non Verizon users, which is a lot. I really do not want to upgrade to the unlimited plan and fork over that money.

I tried using G voice and thought that would just be using data not the min. Turns out that is not the case.

SO I started looking into Line 2 and Skype mobile. Both are paid services but seem to cost less than forking over all the money to Verizon. Plus for business I like not having my cell number out there. Does anybody have experience using either of these on your mobile?

Or any other recommendations?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Google voice doesn't use minutes when you pair it with a VoIP app such as groove IP. However you will need the pro version to make calls over 3g or 4g since the lite only does calls over WiFi.

Ok, this does work but a couple of problems.

1. I was breaking up or I was or they where too soft so I adjusted that
2. Now there is a serious dely on both ends
3. It seems to hang up on people- wifi connected

Any suggestions? Certainly plenty of adjustments that should make this work, but no contact for them.

I use Groove IP when I want to make a long customer service call when I'm at home or around wifi. Doesn't use any minutes.

Does the trick but you might have to call twice if you get a bad connection the first time.

You will not be as clear and will be a bit lagged. The caller will probably point this out.

I have a fring account that I use when my minutes approach the limit. I think I got a thousand minutes for ten bucks. I am in a 4g area and so far it works flawess! I don't have an incoming number for fring though.

I would imagine skype would work just as well. I believe you can get unlimited minutes and an incoming skype number for around 60 dollars per year. :)
