can anyone tell me how can I transfer pictures and other things from my phone to Mac using cable?

Should note I've never actually got this to work reliably with any Samsung phones I've had. Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi phones, no problem. YMMV of course.
Any other methods I know are wireless, either WiFi or Bluetooth.

In addition to the above, stuff on the removable SD card can be copied using a USB microSD card reader (or microSD to SD adapter, if your Mac has an SD slot).

If your Android photos are automatically uploaded to Google Photos, as they often are, you can open the Google Photos website from your Mac, and there they are. (No actual need to download them to your computer unless you want to have a local copy.)

A Google Account (Sync) Drive or Google one. Backup all your contents to either location. Sign in on your Mac computer with the Google account open your Google drive or Google one extension and abracadabra here's all your stuff.
