Help How can i use my deactivated droid 2 as a wifi device?

I have an old droid 2 i'd like to give to my daughter, but i can't seem to do anything with it. A long time ago i was going to sell it so i did a factory reset, but the person i was going to sell it to didn't show up so i just kept it. Now whenever i turn it on it only gives me the option to activate the phone. I can't go any farther into the settings or anything and i don't want to activate it. I want this to be a wifi only device.

Do i have any options or will this be stuck at the "activate now" screen?

Long time no see Captain :D

Moved this to the android lounge since the droid 2 forum is not active...if you press the home button does it allow you to skip activation?

I will try resetting my D2G tonight after some charging if you don't get an answer ;)

Ahhh man. I remember you from way back when you didn't even have "guide" next to your name. Good to see you again bruh.

I can't do anything. This is what it looks like

When i turn it on

Then i click the android like it tells me to and it just takes me to this screen that tells me to activate it

And of coarse when i click activate, it calls the number to activate it, so thats a no go.

I press all the buttons and they don't really do anything. When i press the home button, it just takes me back to the first screen. Is there anything i can do?

Try this How To: Bypass the Activation Screen on the Motorola Droid 2 - TheUnlockrTheUnlockr

I. Bypass the Activation Screen on a Droid Phone -
1. On the Welcome screen with the touch the android to begin icon, do the following:
2. Tap the top left corner of the screen then
3. Tap the top right corner of the screen then
4. Tap the bottom right corner of the screen ( just above the grey bar along the bottom with emergency dial and change language in it) then
5. Tap the bottom left corner of the screen ( just above the grey bar along the bottom with emergency dial and change language in it).
6. That’s it, should pop up the home screen shortly, if not retry. Remember not to drag your finger, simple tap top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left.

I have a feeling she may have to do that anytime that she reboots the phone ;) glad I could help you out, hope she enjoys :D

Na, just have to add a Google account to the Google Play Market. Do it over wifi and it's all set.

Since this has been resolved I have moved it to the D2 forums where it belongs ;) in hopes that it may help someone else some day :D

I am trying to use my Droid2 to access the internet via Wi-Fi and I am having no luck at all. It says it is connected to my network, but I cannot access the internet via the browsers. I cannot access Google Play. I did the forget and retry as well. Any ideas?
