Help How can I wipe all the text messages off my phone?

I at one set it to have a maximum of 1000 messages. I think this is causing major problems on my phone with regards to messaging.

When I go in through the app and try to delete using the feature in app, it just locks up and I have to reboot the phone.

Suggestions?

Can I get at the text files through astro file manager or another way to try and clean up the program?

so I assume you tried deleting all the threads at the same time as well as 1 thread at a time

I use History Eraser app.
