How do I access my BT Mail account on Android tablet?

I am a BT Internet customer with an existing email account however, I cannot log in to it on my new Android tablet? On the log in screen I enter my email address and password and select 'Log in to email' but nothing happens except defaults to the blank login screen with none of my details showing.
